Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into the limelight in 1994 when she debuted her first album Age Ain't Nothing More Than A Number. The album was Gold at the age of fifteen years old. The collaboration that influenced R. Kelly's music, made her a star. In 1996, she teamed up with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her sophomore studio album One In A Million, featuring the number one hit single If Your Girl Knew. After the success of this album, Aaliyah received international recognition as an R&B artist. In 2000, she appeared in the romantic action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial artist Jet-Li. Joel Silver spotted her in an award show. She was cast in the film based on Anne Rice, a vampire movie Queen of the Damned, it premiered in 2002. The Matrix Sequels was her first role in The Matrix Sequels. She had also appeared on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions (2007). The artist has received four Grammy nominations between 1999 and 2003. Aarti Mann is the first generation Indian-American who was born in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann originates from her husband's name Mankad. Aarti is a combination of Aarti Majumdar as well as Aarti Munn as her professional names. Although she began with small TV and movie performances, her acting began growing in popularity around the middle of 2000s. Other notable work includes Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The actress has also been featured in major commercials featuring brands like Volvo, an international auto producer. The actress lives in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She continues to pursue her acting profession.
